Who We Are
Spreading the Word of God since 1905
In 1905 Rev. Enoch White and a small group of people established a church on Harper Street in Jacksonville, Florida and named it Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
The church grew and eventually relocated to Bismark Street. Then in June of 1923, land was purchased to build where the church sits now, Swan Street. Through the years each pastor continued to grow the church spiritually and financially.
In October 2009, Rev. Leslie Washington was appointed as pastor and Allen Chapel growth exploded. Membership increased, the sanctuary was upgraded, the property around the church was improved, and a fellowship hall expanded the church size. The blessings continues in leaps and bounds, with the spirit of the Lord guiding the way.
